The Portal Newsletter 1/9/2025

Dear Friends,

Last night was a fun evening tasting and learning about four different vintages with David from Cambridge Wines! It was wonderful to be back together at the club and to welcome new members. Our membership goal at the end of 2024 was 100 members and we are almost there! Please continue to reach out to friends, neighbors, and relatives and invite them to attend a club meeting or event. We would love to meet them!

This Saturday, January 11 from 9:30am to 1:00pm, a donation drive for Room to Grow and Christ Child is being hosted by the Community Engagement Committee at 105 Whittredge Rd in Summit, NJ. Please email Jackie to volunteer and/or drop by to donate. On Monday, January 13 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm, we will be meeting at the clubhouse (either in the kitchen or upstairs boardroom/book club room) to convene an Estate Sale Planning Committee. We are also seeking a volunteer (or two!) to chair (or co-chair) this committee! All are welcome and encouraged to attend, as the Estate Sale is a major spring fundraising event, which requires ample volunteers. On Tuesday, January 14 from 10:00am to 1:00pm, please join us for soup and bread and a knitting lesson. Beginners and experienced knitters are all welcome to attend, please click here to sign-up.

Before I close this note, one housekeeping request: if you notice something that needs to be fixed or attended to at the club house, please make a note of it on clipboard, which is located in the bottom kitchen drawer under the tea kettle. Liese will review it and then write up work orders for the handyman. This will help us keep track of repairs and invoicing. Many thanks in advance!

As the weather continues to be so cold, please take care outside and bundle up. Stay safe!

Warmly,

Heather Althoff
